TMP-28574 2  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION CONCERNING DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS - ACCESSIBILITY CONSIDERATIONS M. Snow, Planner provided an overview of the review process for building and planning applications and explained how accessibility is being considered during the application process. She explained that staff in the Development Services Department will engage with applicants to provide input or encourage that accessibility be considered when applications are submitted. The Committee provided their feedback to Ms. Snow and received responses. H. Morgan expressed her excitement and was pleased to see that staff in Development Services Department try to engage with applicants early on to to ask those questions surrounding accessibility. C. Dillon, Disability Management and Accessibility Specialist suggested that if there are any Committee members interested in volunteering to facilitate comments on any upcoming plans as it relates to accessibility to contact her. TMP-28576 2  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION CONCERNING MACLAREN ACCESS ART Tyler Durbano, Accessibility Coordinator for the MacLaren Art Centre provided a presentation regarding MacLaren Access Art. He commented that his role as Accessibility Coordinator at the MacLaren Art Centre was possible because of a grant received through the Ontario Trillium He advised that the MacLaren Art Centre really took the opportunity to look at ways to improve accessibility within the gallery spaces. Mr. Durbano discussed slides concerning the following topics: · The background and history of the MacLaren Art Centre; · Illustrations depicting past MacLaren Exhibitions; · The educations programs offered at the centre; · A description of MacLaren Access Art; · The MacLaren Access Art Team; · Illustrations depicting an introduction of Erika DeFreita’s art exhibition; and, · Examples of the tools being developed to improve accessibility in the gallery spaces. DISC - 2.1 2  Discussion Item2021 NATIONAL ACCESSABILITY WEEK C. Dillon, Disability Management Specialist provided an update regarding the 2021 National AccessAbility Week. Ms. Dillon outlined the proclamation in recognition of National AccessAbility Week between May 30th to June 5th, 2021. Ms. Dillon advised that 2021 marks the 20th Anniversary for the Accessibility Advisory Committee and to mark the milestone she has been working with staff in Access Barrie regarding communications to celebrate the event. Ms. Dillon provided a timeline of events and projects that have taken place during the Committee’s past twenty years.Received  Action details Not available
