TMP-27089 2  Discussion ItemDEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS UNDER REVIEW 70-72 DUNLOP STREET EAST SIGN INSTALL - AMENDED APPLICATION TO AMEND APPLICATION TO ALTER DESIGNATED HERITAGE BUILDING Councillor, C. Riepma provided a brief overview regarding the application to install a sign on a designated heritage building at 70 and 72 Dunlop Street East. Councillor Riepma advised that the applicant had decided to make a change to the sign already approved by Council for 70 and 72 Dunlop Street East and has submitted an amended application to alter the Heritage Designation for approval. Sean Mills from Signs n Display described the difference between the approved sign and proposed changes to the signage for 70 and 72 Dunlop Street East. He explained that the proposed design of the sign would include a black background with white lettering, be larger in size and backlit. Mr. Mills discussed that a permanent rail would then be attached to the building at 70-72 Dunlop Street East and then signage affixed to the rail so that the sign can be removed and replaced easily. TMP-27092 3  Discussion ItemDISCUSSION OF POTENTIAL HERITAGE AND TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS COLLABORATION The Committee discussed hosting a potential Heritage and Tourism Stakeholders Meeting. C. Colebatch explained that there are many organizations and groups within Barrie that are interested in heritage such as Tourism Barrie, MacLaren Art and Allandale Neighbourhood Association who are working on different projects She felt that a Heritage and Tourism Stakeholders meeting would be beneficial and provide the opportunity to engage with these organizations and groups in order to find out what they are doing and to discuss possible opportunities to collaborate on heritage projects that would promote and educate the residents in Barrie. Councillor Riepma suggested coordinating the Heritage and Tourism Stakeholders Meeting for June, 2021. TMP-27093 2  Discussion ItemUPDATES FROM COMMITTEE PUBLIC ART ALLANDALE GO STATION AND TRANSIT HUB Councillor, J. Harris provided an update regarding the public art project listed on the Committee’s work plan for the Allandale GO Station and Transit Hub. Councillor Harris explained that he had a meeting with City staff and stakeholders regarding heritage art at the Allandale GO Station and Transit Hub and he received positive feedback. He described that the next steps would be to develop a proposal outlining the scope and concept of the public art project including the key partners which would then be provided to City staff. The Committee provided feedback to Councillor J. Harris and received responses. C. Colebatch suggested that there storyboards, particularly located in the Allandale area that describe some of Barrie’s rail history.
