OD1 210413 2  Open Delegations OPEN DELEGATION BY MARGARET PROPHET, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SIMCOE COUNTY GREENBELT COALITION REGARDING JUST RECOVERY SIMCOE Margaret Prophet, Executive Director of Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition provided an open delegation regarding Just Recovery Simcoe. Ms. Prophet discussed slides concerning the following topics: · The background and mandate of Just Recovery Simcoe (JRS); · The statistics related to health outcomes; · An illustration depicting the social determinents areas of health; · The principles and rationale for the social determinents of health; · A summary of the policy and decision making framework; and · Examples of decisions associated with the JRS framework. In closing, Ms. Prophet expressed that Just Recovery Simcoe would be interested collaborating with the City of Barrie to assist in implementing the JRS dashboard metrics into the strategic priorities. OD2 210413 2  Item of DiscussionOPEN DELEGATION BY IAN MALCOLM ON BEHALF OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF BARRIE REGARDING A COVID HEROES GARDEN IN SUNNIDALE PARK. Ian Malcolm on behalf of the Rotary Club of Barrie provided an open delegation regarding a COVID Heroes Garden in Sunnidale Park. Mr. Malcolm provided an overview of the project and he described the proposed location for the construction of the garden in Sunnidale Park. He advised that the Rotary Club of Barrie has partnered with Landscape Architects and Consulting Arborists to create and design the proponents of the proposed COVID Heroes Garden. He provided an overview of the conceptual drawing associated with the proposed garden which includes seven proponents such as a colour garden, conifer grove and smooth rock outcrop. Mr. Malcolm explained that proposed cost associated with the garden is $80,000 excluding irrigation. He advised that the Rotary Club of Barrie has earmarked $22,000 towards the project and they have applied for grant funding through the Canadian Healthy Communities for the garden.
