Mona Boyd, Horticulture Foreperson, provided an update concerning the 2025 Communities in Bloom Program (CIB) and stated that she is waiting on criteria for the Healthier Living Cities category. Ms. Boyd advised that the theme of the 2025 CIB Program is “Edibles”, and that the judges have been named for the program and are scheduled to visit the City between July 22 and July 24, 2025.
Mona Boyd provided an update concerning communications for the CIB Program, which includes registration opening soon, the Little Bloomers Program for ages 6 to 12 years, and a proclamation prepared for Communities in Bloom Week between May 5 to 11, 2025. The Committee discussed ideas for participants' gifts and opportunities to showcase the community in the portfolio provided to CIB judges. The Committee also chose the design of the 2025 CIB Program logo. | Received | |

The Committee reviewed City staff comments received in relation to the recommendations from the 2024 Communities in Bloom Evaluation Form. Councillor AM. Kungl will follow up with City staff and report back at the next Committee meeting.
The Committee discussed ideas and potential opportunities to showcase the municipality during the CIB judges visit, such as the City’s electric buses and fleet, Barrie Sports Hall of Fame, Barrie Legion 147 and Little Lake Naturalized Boardwalk. | Received | |
