Police Chief K, Greenwood provided a brief overview of the status of the draft Community Safety Wellbeing Plan. Chief Greenwood introduced Alex Way from Mass LBP to provide a presentation concerning an Update Report of the Barrie Community Safety and Well-Being Plan Working Group.
Mr. Way discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· The legislative requirements related to the development of the Community Safety Well-Being Plan;
· The objectives of the Community Safety Well-Being Plan;
· The establishment and composition of a working group by Barrie Police Services to assist in the development of the plan;
· The Working Group members identified sixteen aspirations for the plan;
· A chart summarizing the twenty-one identified risk factors in Barrie;
· A chart illustrating the identified risk factors organized into five focus areas;
· Charts illustrating what was learned about each of the following risk factors:
a) Mental health and substance use;
