Kathy Brislin, Senior Policy Planner provided an update on the nominations submitted for the 2015 Heritage Barrie Awards. Ms. Brislin noted that Access Barrie promoted the Heritage Barrie Awards in its Media Release regarding the Historic Walking Tours. She stated that the deadline for submitting Heritage Barrie Award nominations is October 16, 2015. Ms. Brislin will compile Heritage Barrie Award nominations for review at the next Heritage Barrie Committee meeting to be held on November 3, 2015. | Received | |

K. Brislin, Senior Policy Planner provided an update on the Historic Walking Tours held on September 26, 2015. Ms. Brislin noted that the morning tour of Union Cemetery entitled “Venerable Souls” and the afternoon tour in Downtown Barrie entitled “Victorian Rogues and Scoundrels” were well attended with over 50 participants.
The Committee agreed that Barrie Historic Walking Tours should be arranged for residents on an annual basis. | Received | |
