Councillor, AM. Kungl and Mona Boyd, Horticulture Foreperson provided an update concerning the 2025 Communities in Bloom Program.
Councillor Kungl advised that Mona Boyd, Karl and Darcene Bagnell, Dorothy Ramsay along with herself attended the 2025 Communities in Bloom National and International Awards ceremony, and the City won the Healthier, Livable Cities Award with a Five Blooms Gold Rating, and earned a special mention for the tree recovery efforts for the 2025 ice storm.
The Committee reviewed results of 2025 Communities in Bloom Evaluation Report. The Committee will circulate a copy of the 2025 CIB Evaluation Report to members of Council and City staff for their input on the recommendations. Further discussion will take place at the next meeting. | Received | |

Councillor, AM. Kungl advised that the theme of the 2026 Communities in Bloom Program will be “Therapeutic Gardening”. The Committee discussed planning for the 2026 program, judges visit, and potential ideas to showcase the community in next year’s program including getting feedback from City departments and Advisory Committees.
