Mayor Lehman invited Cory Mainprize, Acting Fire Chief/Director of Emergency Services to join him at the podium to present the awards from the International Association of Firefighters Media Awards (IAFF) to the Fire Prevention Branch of the Barrie Fire and Emergency Service (BFES).
C. Mainprize thanked members of Council for the opportunity to recognize the work that the Fire Prevention Branch does for the City of Barrie. Mr. Mainprize noted that they are often the unsung heroes of the BFES, but that they are a key part in the education and prevention of fire safety. Mr. Mainprize introduced Jeff Weber, Deputy Chief of Prevention and Community Emergency Management and the members of the Fire Prevention Branch.
