P. Bovolini, Facility Capital Project Supervisor and J. Le, Facility Technologist provided an overview of the proposed alterations and approach to the designated heritage building at the Southshore Community Centre which includes the replacement of a doorframe and transom window to the exterior doorway that leads to the public washrooms at the facility. Mr. Bovolini advised that due to vandalism issues replacement of the doorframe is required to address security concerns at the facility.
Ms. Le reviewed the preliminary architectural drawings related to the Southshore Doorframe Replacement and photographs depicting the current doorway at the facility. Ms. Le described that the proposed plans would include replacing the existing wood doorframe with a hollow metal doorframe and the transom window, and would keep with the same historic character that exists at the facility.
T. Wierzba, Planner provided an overview of Designated By-law 91-197 as it relates to the Southshore Community Centre.
