Mr. Peter Koetsier, 51 Highland Avenue provided a presentation regarding the proposed Highland Avenue Rodney Street - Mountbatten Road - Mountbatten Crescent Sidewalk Construction Project. Mr. Koetsier indicated that he understands the City’s initiative to encourage Active Transportation within the City. However, he noted concerns with respect to installing a sidewalk on Highland Avenue as he feels that a sidewalk is not required. He observed that there are many streets that are far busier than Highland Avenue that do not have sidewalks. Mr. Koetsier commented that he has a concern with the new proposed Infill Sidewalk Policy as he feels the policy is too broad in that a sidewalk could be installed anywhere, anytime regardless of the need. Mr. Koetsier stated that he believes that based upon the old policy, Highland Avenue Sidewalk does not warrant a sidewalk.
In closing, Mr. Koetsier stated that he feels the new Infill Sidewalk Policy would not prvoide a good return for the tax dollar investme | Received | |
