PRESENTATION BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ART AND WATER GROUP CONCERNING ART AND WATER A PERFECT PAIR
Mat Slaman, Executive Director of the Art and Water Group provided a presentation concerning the Art and Water Group and expanding its program, the Art and Water a Perfect Pair, to the City of Barrie.
Mr. Slaman discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• An overview of the Group that combines children’s theatre, dockside performances, art galleries, and ancillary boat tours;
• The Art and Water Group structure;
• A summary of the flagship program, immersive children’s theatre that takes place aboard a pirate ship for families to join their crew and search for buried treasure;
• A summary of the dockside public performances and muskoka chair murals programs;
• Future programs for the Art and Water Group;
• The support and funding sources for the Group; and
• The request to the City of Barrie for space along the waterfront and the impacts of their programs to the Community.
Members of Council asked a number of questions to Mr. Slaman and received responses.
