Title: REDUCING GHG EMISSIONS THROUGH PARK AND YARD NATURALIZATION AND EDUCATION Kelly Patterson-McGrath summarized her presentation from the previous Committee meeting concerning the 2-Cycle Engine Reduction. She provided suggestions, such as completely banning the use of leaf blowers for City use for maintenance and setting an example for the Community when planning to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Kevin Rankin, Supervisor of Urban Forestry and Natural Areas Stewardship, confirmed that going from gas powered equipment to battery powered equipment is currently being done with all equipment that can be changed over to battery rechargeable units. He expressed that it would be very costly to get rid of all the current backpack units and replace them with battery units immediately. The Committee discussed some different ideas, strategies, and issue.
