Title: BARRIE HEALTH ACCORD Councillor, A.M. Kungl provided an overview on the Barrie Health Accord, an initiative that commits organizations to participating in a community-wide planning process that focuses on the long-term health and well-being of the municipality and to addressing root causes of health conditions that require emergency services and treatment to set measurable outcome metrics and transparently reporting them to the community. Councillor Kungl advised that the first step was signing the Barrie Health Accord and the next step is gathering the metrics and information. Members of Committee asked a number of questions of Councillor Kungl associated to the Barrie Health Accord. Councillor Kungl suggested inviting Patrick Feng from the Healthy Barrie Project, to a future meeting. Councillor Kungl advised that the first step was signing the Barrie Health Accord and the next step is gathering the metrics and information.

 

Members of Committee asked a number of questions of Councillor Kungl associated to the Barrie Health Accord.  Councillor Kungl suggested inviting Patrick Feng from the Healthy Barrie Project, to a future meeting.  She advised that a presentation on the Healthy Barrie Project was recently discussed at Barrie City Council, and that it is an initiative to improve health and well-being, support health innovation and develop research capacity in the City of Barrie. The Committee agreed to invite the Mr. Feng to a future meeting for an update on the Project.
