Andee Pelan provided a presentation concerning Living Green Barrie, and the non-profit organization’s Top 10 Actions for Climate.
Ms. Pelan discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• An overview on Living Green Barrie organization;
• The funding sources for Living Green Barrie;
• The programs developed by Living Green Barrie: Tree Planting, Fruitshare and GreenScreen:
• The education into action plan “10 Actions for Climate in 2021”;
• A summary of the following 2021 Top 10 Actions for Climate:
1. February - Be Hopeful;
2. March - Invest in Green;
3. April - Reduce Waste;
4. May - Plant Trees;
5. June - Engage;
6. July - Tread Lightly;
7. August - Power Down;
8. September - Eat More Plants;
9. October - Plant More Trees; and
10. November - Buy Less Stuff.
• A summary on Living Green Barrie serving the City for 30 years and a request to partner with the City on Community Engagement and building a sustainable funding model.
