Title: OPEN DELEGATION BY IAN MALCOLM ON BEHALF OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF BARRIE REGARDING A COVID HEROES GARDEN IN SUNNIDALE PARK. Ian Malcolm on behalf of the Rotary Club of Barrie provided an open delegation regarding a COVID Heroes Garden in Sunnidale Park. Mr. Malcolm provided an overview of the project and he described the proposed location for the construction of the garden in Sunnidale Park. He advised that the Rotary Club of Barrie has partnered with Landscape Architects and Consulting Arborists to create and design the proponents of the proposed COVID Heroes Garden. He provided an overview of the conceptual drawing associated with the proposed garden which includes seven proponents such as a colour garden, conifer grove and smooth rock outcrop. Mr. Malcolm explained that proposed cost associated with the garden is $80,000 excluding irrigation. Ian Malcolm on behalf of the Rotary Club of Barrie provided an open delegation regarding a COVID Heroes Garden in Sunnidale Park.  Mr. Malcolm provided an overview of the project and he described the proposed location for the construction of the garden in Sunnidale Park.  He advised that the Rotary Club of Barrie has partnered with Landscape Architects and Consulting Arborists to create and design the proponents of the proposed COVID Heroes Garden.  He provided an overview of the conceptual drawing associated with the proposed garden which includes seven proponents such as a colour garden, conifer grove and smooth rock outcrop. 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Malcolm explained that proposed cost associated with the garden is $80,000 excluding irrigation.  He advised that the Rotary Club of Barrie has earmarked $22,000  towards the project and they have applied for grant funding through the Canadian Healthy Communities for the garden. 

 

In closing, Mr. Malcolm advised that the Rotary Club of Barrie is requesting approval of the COVID Heroes Garden in Sunnidale Park.

 

Members of the Committee and Mr. Malcolm asked several questions associated to his Open Delegation and received responses from Mr. Malcolm, Committee members, and City staff.
