Title: RECOGNITION OF THE 2014 SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS KETTLE CAMPAIGN. Major Doug Lewis provided a presentation regarding the Salvation Army Barrie Bayside Mission and the Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. He noted that there is a segment of the population that does not have a choice on where to stay, what to eat or wear. Major Lewis thanked the community for its generosity, noting that funds raised provide options by giving a hand up and out. He recognized the efforts of the volunteers and individual companies who prepare meals and assist with various projects associated with the Salvation Army. Major Lewis discussed the residency services, fundraising and other programs offered by the Salvation Army that are supported through community donations. Major Lewis noted that the Salvation Army has raised 80% of their fundraising goal associated with the Christmas Kettle Campaign. He advised that the need for their services has increased.
