ELIMINATION OF MAYORS PARTICIPATION IN OMERS PENSION PLAN

Seconded by                     Councillor, A. Courser

 

That staff in the Human Resources Department undertake the required process and work with OMERS to eliminate the need for the Mayor to participate in the OMERS pension plan; and, if the Mayor’s participation in the OMERS pension plan is ended, that the Corporation provide options for alternate contribution plans that maintain the Mayor’s overall compensation, including an employer contribution of 12% of the Mayor’s base annual remuneration (equivalent with what the employer contribution would have been under OMERS), resulting in no change to the Mayor’s total compensation.
