Title: OPEN DELEGATION - RAISED INTERSECTION AT STAPLETON CRESCENT AND CUMMING DRIVE Sonya Anderson provided an Open Delegation regarding the proposed raised intersection at Stapleton Crescent and Cumming Drive. Ms. Anderson explained that she represents residents in the area which includes Cumming Drive, Stapleton Crescent, Emms Drive and Loon Avenue. Ms. Anderson explained that she represents residents in the area which includes Cumming Drive, Stapleton Crescent, Emms Drive and Loon Avenue. Ms. Anderson discussed the following concerns and comments:

* The lack of communication regarding the proposed raised intersection and curb bump out traffic calming measures;
* The possible safety concerns associated with the proposed traffic calming measures;
* The petition she circulated to her neighbous requesting that the project be halted, signed by 178 individuals;
* The results of the survey circulated by the City of Barrie to the residents who live in the vicinity of the intersection;
* The cost associated with the installation of the traffic calming measures;
* The current posted speed in the neighbourhood;
* The effectiveness of traffic calming measures;
* Whether the City had emperical evidence on the effectiveness of the traffic calming on Sandringham Crescent and Birkhall Place after installation;
* The sightline at the intersection of Stapleton Crescent and Cumming Drive;
* The wording of the survey circulated by the City of Barrie;
* The sightlines measurement for Stapleton Crescent and Cumming Drive;
* An Intersection Safety Case Study, completed for the City of Winston-Salem;
* Other options for traffic calming measures such as increasing the stop sign size, increased pavement markings, and stop sign ahead warning signs; and
* The proposed traffic calming measures will not remedy the situation at Stapleton Crescent and Cumming Drive;




In closing, Ms. Anderson asked if the City has evidence that the traffic calming solution will have a positive influence and solve the problem at the intersection.
