RECOGNITION OF NOEL BANAVAGE, PURCHASING AGENT ON HIS RETIREMENT AND YEARS OF SERVICE.
Mayor J. Lehman announced the retirement of Noel Banavage, Purchasing Agent after 27 years with the City of Barrie. He provided highlights from Noel's career in Purchasing and his many years of community involvement, including his musical contributions to numerous events through the Skyliners Big Band and Skylites.
In closing, Mayor Lehman commented that Noel has indicated he will be "changing buses" and will be going back to school to study music. On behalf of Council, Mayor Lehman wished Noel all the best in his retirement.
Noel Banavage commented that it has been a pleasure and privilege to work for the City of Barrie. He echoed Deputy Chief Monkman's comments about the City being one of the leading edge municipalities in Ontario. Noel introduced his wife Darlene. In closing, he wished everyone a Merry Christmas and continued success.
