Title: RECOGNITION OF BARRIE FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICE PERSONNEL FOR THEIR ACTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH SAVING A LIFE IN CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP. Mayor Lehman introduced Deputy Fire Chief Bill Boyes. Deputy Chief Boyes commented that he was proud to be in attendance at City Council for the recognition. He introduced Seth Rowe, the gentleman whose life was saved, his wife Jamie and Fire Chief Colin Shewell of Clearview Township. Deputy Chief Boyes discussed the extent of the rescue efforts and involvement of the City of Barrie, Township of Clearview, City of Toronto Fire Service and other agencies. He detailed the challenges faced by the team during the rescue efforts. He acknowledged and thanked Yolanda Gallo and Gilbert McInnis for initially contacting Barrie Fire and Emergency Service about the situation. Mayor Lehman introduced Deputy Fire Chief Bill Boyes. Deputy Chief Boyes commented that he was proud to be in attendance at City Council for the recognition.  He introduced Seth Rowe, the gentleman whose life was saved, his wife Jamie and Fire Chief Colin Shewell of Clearview Township.

Mayor Lehman reiterated the details of the extreme conditions that the fire fighters faced and expressed his appreciation for the coordination and team work of the multiple agencies.  He also recognized Yolanda Gallo and Gilbert McInnis who heard Mr. Rowe’s cries for help and called 911.

 

Mayor Lehman presented City of Barrie Award of Merit medallions and certificates to Fire Fighters Eric Webster, Todd MacDonald, Dave Dunt, Captain Jeff Balch, Captain Curtis Gray and Captain Dana Boughner in recognition of their life saving efforts.

 

Mayor Lehman presented the following with certificates in recognition of their assistance in the rescue: Deputy Fire Chief Bill Boyes, Fire Fighters Jay Koski, Dan Speight, Gunness Gilbert, Jody Fiegehen, Brian Klassen, Eric Poole, Steve Higgins, Dave Cadeau, Rob Muirik, Scott Simpson, Luke Sauder, Jay Sickel, Tony Farrell, Captain Todd Byers and Captain Eric McFadden and Communications Officers Joan Farrow and Amanda Wickham. Mayor Lehman also presented certificates to Yolanda Gallo and Gilbert McInnis in recognition of their efforts.
