CONSULTANT PROPOSAL FOR CONSULTATION AND REVIEW OF CURRENT COMMUNITY SAFETY AND WELL-BEING PLAN
Karie Warner of Avail Consulting Inc. provided a presentation concerning the proposed framing and guiding of the work for Barrie’s Community Safety Well-Being Plan (CSWB) Refresh.
Ms. Warner discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• A background of herself and Avail Consulting Inc.;
• The goals of the refresh of the Community Safety Well-Being Plan;
• The key considerations for the plan;
• The key activities and timeline for the updated plan;
• The process for document review and analysis of available data for the plan;
• The engagement and consultation process for the updated plan
• The strategies and framework for building the plan;
• The steps to finalize updated CSWB Plan;
• The lessons learned and challenges with the current CSWB Plans;
• A brief overview of the Simcoe County CSWB Plans.
Ms. Warner advised that if the Committee does choose to include the lived/living experience session as part of the proposal for the plan, that she would need to know by the Committee’s next next meeting date.
Members of Committee asked a number of questions of Ms. Warner and received responses.
Dawn McAlpine, General Manager of Community and Corporate Services commented on the budget for the consultant.
The Committee members discussed that their next steps would be to determine whether the Committee wants to include lived/living experience in the proposal, preparing a stakeholder list and organizations identifying members of the coalition supporting the CSWB Plan, and to assist Avail Consulting with the consultation process the organizations would provide the upcoming meeting dates for their coalitions so the consultant can attend.
