Title: DEPUTATION BY MR. GEORGE NAGEL REGARDING MOTION 15-G-110, SECOND SUITES ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT Mr. George Nagel provided a deputation in opposition to motion 15-G-110 concerning the Second Suites Zoning By-law Amendment. Mr. Nagel advised that he is a local realtor who sells income properties. Mr. Nagel suggested redefining the minimum standards of a designated second suite to allow for no more than 5 unrelated people. He commented on the demographics of those who are interested in renting properties with second suites. Mr. Nagel discussed requirements related to second suites to achieve compliance with the current Ontario Building Code, noting that it is more onerous than the Code that existed in 1996 and that these units were permitted by the Province. He discussed the number of illegal suites currently in the City of Barrie and the percentage that would come forward to register if the proposed changes By-law amendments were approved would remained unchanged.
