PRESENTATION CONCERNING THE INFRASTRUCTURE MASTER PLANS

 

Tom Reeve, Senior Infrastructure Planning Program Coordinator provided a presentation concerning an overview on the Transportation Master Plan and the Water and Wastewater Master Plan.

 

T. Reeve discussed slides concerning the following topics:

 

                     An overview of the Infrastructure Master Plans;

                     An illustration identifying the areas where the Infrastructure Master Plans will be utilized;

                     The rationale associated with the requirement for a Transportation Master Plan;

                     A map illustrating the population growth projections for 2041;

                     A chart illustrating the current modal split and the 2041 targets for active transportation and transit;

                     A chart summarizing the four phases of the Active Transportation Infrastructure Strategy;

                     The highlights for Active Transportation including Off-Road Trails, In-Boulevard Pathways, Cycle Tracks, Buffered Bike Lanes, Bike Lanes, Paved Shoulders, Signed Routes and Sidewalks;

                     The transit services, principles and additional measures recommended by the study;

                     A map illustrating roads in the secondary plan growth areas, ROW protections, road diets and the HOV lanes; and

                     The crossings and interchange improvements proposed for Highway 400.

 

Members of the Committee asked a number of questions to City staff and received responses.

 

                     An overview of the Water and Wastewater Master Plans;

                     A graph illustrating a comparison of water usage with other municipalities and the level of service driven by legislation and government standards;

                     A map illustrating the water supply zones in the City;

                     A diagram illustrating the Water Storage and Distribution Master Plan for the five main pressure zones;

                     A map illustrating the new infrastructure proposed and inflow and infiltration associated with the Wastewater Collection Master Plan;

                     The rationale associated with the requirements of the Wastewater Treatment Master Plan;

                     The estimated capital costs for the six Infrastructure Master Plans; and

                     The next steps associated with the Infrastructure Master Plans.

 

Members of the Committee asked a number of questions to City staff and received responses.
