Stott, Strategic Planner, Barrie Police Service provided a presentation regarding an Overview of Safety and Security for the City of Barrie. Ms. Stott discussed slides concerning the following topics: · An introduction of the Barrie Police Service Team; · The background of the Barrie Police Service; · A chart from StatsCans of Police-Reported Crime Statistics between 2004 to 2018; · A chart illustrating the 2018 Crime Severity (CSI) Index and changes between 2017 to 2018; · A chart illustrating the total calls for service to Barrie Police Service between 2006 to 2018; · A chart illustrating zones of intervention and related community programs; · A chart illustrating Collaborate Barrie’s top five risk categories identified between 2015 to 2019; · A chart illustrating Collaborate Barrie’s number of study flags reported; · The membership of Collaborate Barrie; and · The results of the 2018 Barrie Police Service external community survey. TMP-24538 2  CorrespondenceCOMMUNITY CONSULTATION PROCESS The Committee reviewed a list of survey questions developed to be used as part of the Community Safety Well-Being Plan consultation process and provided input to Ms. McAlpine. R. Lay, Community Engagement Advisor suggested keeping the survey questions simple and build upon the information received. Mr. Lay suggested that the community be provided with both in person and online opportunities to provide input. Ms. McAlpine noted that she anticipates that Community Safety Well-Being survey will commence in September, 2019. D. McAlpine, General Manager of Community and Corporate Services discussed the various methods and opportunities for community consultation process.
