TMP-24041 1  Presentation - AC/RCCITY OF BARRIE TWIN/FRIENDSHIP CITIES SIGNAGE DISCUSSION The Committee met and discussed the Twin/Friendship Cities Signage. D. Morrison, Chair discussed the status of Barrie’s International Partnerships. D. Morrison commented that the design of the current twin/friendship cities signage is not accessible and does not include Barrie’s two new international partnerships of Arras, France and Harrogate, United Kingdom. S. Rose, Manager of Traffic and Parking Services provided an overview of the Twin/Friendship Cities Signage. Mr. Rose commented that there are approximately twenty-three Twin/Friendship Cties signs in Barrie and that there would be costs associated with updating the signage. TMP-24045 1  Presentation - AC/RCYOUTH AMBASSADORS UPDATE The Committee met and discussed the status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows: Murayama, Japan D. Morrison, Chair provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Mr. Morrison advised that preparations are underway to host a youth delegation from Murayama, Japan for two weeks in August, 2019. He noted that the delegates consist of ten youths and two leaders. Mr. Morrison commented that the dates of visit still need to be finalized. Mr. Morrison highlighted that Murayama, Japan is going through their selection process in May, 2019 for those youth who will participate in the youth delegation to visit the City of Barrie during summer, 2019. Zweibrücken, Germany J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Babcock advised that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie through the Global Perspectives Program will be traveling to Zweibrücken, Germany between May and June, 2019. J. Mr. Warman commented that Lord Mayor Dr. Marold Wosnitza accompanied by his spouse Heike Heb from Zweibrücken, Germany will be making an unofficial visit to the City of Barrie from July 10, 2019 to July 13, 2019. The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee cost centre #1026 660200 not to exceed $1500.00 for costs associated with hosting the Lord Mayor, Dr. Marold Wosnitza and spouse Heike Heb between July 10 to July 13, 2019. Mr. Warman advised that preparations are underway to host an adult choir from Zweibrücken, Germany from October 3, 2019 to October 11, 2019.
