B. Muscat, Executive Director, Student and Learning Services at Georgian College provided an update regarding the smoking ban at all Georgian College properties that came into effect on May 6, 2019. Mr. Muscat noted that Campus Security at the Barrie Campus of Georgian College has been increased to enforce the new smoke-free procedures.
J. Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Legislative and Court Services Department advised that the City has not received any complaints concerning the smoking ban at Georgian College as of today’s meeting date. | | |

The Committee reviewed the Town and Gown Committee’s 2018-2022 Draft Work Plan. Councillor C. Riepma, Chair requested that the Committee Members bring forward for discussion at a future meeting their suggestions to strengthen the relationship between the City, Georgian College students and residents in Ward One.
The Committee discussed possible items to include in student welcome packages at Georgian College. B. Muscat, Executive Director, Student and Learning Services at Georgian College offered to gather some examples of student welcome packages from other educational institutions for the Committee’s review at a future meeting. | | |
