D. Morrison, Chair provided an update regarding the Committee’s Budget. Mr. Morrison suggested creating a reserve fund for the International Relations Committee. Mr. Morrison commented that each year the amount of activity between our international partners can differ but since the expansion of Harrogate, United Kingdom and Arras, France there seems to have been an increase in activity that could potentially have an effect on the Committee’s budget.
W. Cooke, City Clerk/Director of Legislative and Court Services provided a historical background related to the Committee’s budget between 2015 and 2018. Ms. Cooke discussed the City’s policies associated with creating reserve funds.

D. Morrison provided an update regarding the Legacy Fund for Youth Ambassadors Program with the Barrie Community Foundation. Mr. Morrison commented that the agreement has now been signed with the Barrie Community Foundation. Mr. Morrison advised that any withdrawals related to the Legacy Fund for the Youth Ambassadors Program will require the approval of the Committee. Mr. Morrison highlighted that a soft launch of the Legacy Fund for the Youth Ambassadors Program took place on October 1, 2019 and that he would notify previous participants of the Youth Ambassadors and Global Perspectives Programs who may wish to contribute to the fund. | Received | |

Mr. Morrison advised that a youth delegation from Zweibrucken, Germany are currently visiting the City of Barrie until October 10, 2019. Mr. Morrison invited the Committee to attend the Goodbye Party for the youth delegation on October 8, 2019 at Innisdale Secondary School beginning at 5:30 p.m. | Received | |
