P. Hillier, Executive Director of Community Connection/211 Central East Ontario provided a presentation regarding 211 Ontario services. Ms. Hillier explained that community information centres have been in existence for over 50 years and that 211 Central East Ontario is one of six provincial contact centres serving 12 counties.
Ms. Hillier discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· The mission of Ontario 211 is to provide “front door” access to community, health, social and government services;
· An overview of the community information database topics available from the Information Barrie Department at the Barrie Public Library;
· A listing of 211 Ontario professionally accredited providers;
· A statistical breakdown of the types of referrals in Simcoe County in 2017;
· A review of how the 211 Ontario system works including: the role of community navigators/community resource specialists and the technology systems utilized; and

A. Fellows, Program Manager, Community Development and R. Lay, Fund Development Coordinator at the Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County provided a presentation regarding the Parish Outreach to Seniors (POTS) Slow Cooker Club. Mr. Lay distributed the POTS Slow Cooker Club Evaluation Report dated April 2018.
Mr. Lay discussed slides concerning the following topics:
· The POTS Slow Cooker Club is co-facilitated by the Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit;
· The promotion of the POTS Slow Cooker Club on a local television stations; and
· Photographs of seniors and volunteers participating in the POTS Slow Cooker Club activities in Barrie during February and March 2018.

J. Youell-Robson provided an update regarding a kick-off to Seniors Month with the Seniors Advisory Committee sponsoring a barbeque hosted by the Parkview 55+ Centre. Ms. Youell-Robson advised that Mayor Lehman and approximately 120 people attended this event held on June 6, 2018.
