TMP-22539 1  Presentation - AC/RCSENIORS TRANSITIONAL HOUSING - ZONING DISCUSSION L. Stevenson expressed her concerns regarding a lack of transitional housing in Barrie and Simcoe County to support seniors when discharged from hospital to home. Ms. Stevenson provided an update regarding the status of Victoria Village’s application for seniors transitional housing. Ms. Stevenson offered to arrange a meeting with representatives from Victoria Village, external stakeholders and members of the Seniors Advisory Committee to further discuss the possibility of providing seniors transitional housing at Victoria Village. M. Banfield, Manager of Intensification and Land Use Policy of the Planning and Building Services Department noted that applications need to meet several requirements including: zoning, building and fire codes. Ms. Banfield encouraged applicants to request an initial meeting with staff from the Planning and Building Services Department to begin the pre-consultation process. C. TMP-22540 1  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION REGARDING VULNERABLE PERSONS REGISTRY Constable J. Reynolds from the Operational Support Division - Crime Prevention Unit of the Barrie Police Service provided a verbal presentation regarding the Vulnerable Person Registry (VPR) established in 2014 to serve residents in the City of Barrie. Constable Reynolds explained that a vulnerable person is defined as a person who may pose a danger to him/herself due to a medical, mental health or physical condition. Constable Reynolds provided an overview of the City’s VPR as follows: · The VPR is a valuable tool for emergency services personnel to assist or locate a vulnerable person during a crisis situation; · The VPR allows a caregiver to submit vital information concerning a vulnerable person to the Barrie Police Service database; · An overview of the data collected on the VPR Registration Form such as: detailed physical description, photograph, places likely to visit, daily routine, emergency contacts and vehicle information; and · The options to submit a VPR Registration Form include: online at www.barriepolic   Action details Not available
TMP-22541 1  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION REGARDING THE PREVENTION OF SENIORS ABUSE P. Luening, Chair of the Prevention of Senior Abuse Network (PSAN) in Simcoe County provided a verbal presentation concerning the support offered by the PSAN voluntary network concerning seniors at risk of abuse. Ms. Luening provided an overview of the PSAN as follows: · The Vision Statement of the PSAN: all seniors in Simcoe County live with dignity and respect in a safe environment; · The Mission Statement of the PSAN: promote an awareness of elder abuse and prevention through education and advocacy; and · A review of the PSAN’s current projects including promoting the “It’s Not Right” Campaign and website enhancements. In closing, Ms. Luening detailed the next steps for the PSAN and noted that June 15, 2018 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. TMP-22542 1  Presentation - AC/RC55+ INFORMATION DIRECTORY UPDATE C. Dillon, Accessibility Co-ordinator provided an update regarding printing estimates for the publication entitled “55+ Information Directory”. Ms. Dillon advised that the Barrie Advance revised its quote of $2,000.00 to print 5,000 copies of the 55+ Information Directory.
