TMP-22185 1  Presentation - AC/RCPRESENTATION BY THE LAKE SIMCOE REGIONAL CONSERVATION AUTHORITY (LSRCA) CONCERNING THE LSRCA’S SALT MANAGEMENT STRATEGY Mr. Wayne Watson introduced Mr. Bill Thompson from the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority (LSRCA) and he advised that Mr. Thompson will be providing a presentation concerning Salt Reduction in the Lake Simcoe Watershed. Mr. Thompson discussed slides concerning the following topics: · A graph illustrating the Lake Simcoe chloride trends from 1970 - 2015: · A map illustrating areas and contributing factors associated with the concentration of urban chloride in the Lake Simcoe Region; · A map illustrating the City of Barrie drinking water contributing areas; · A pie chart and map illustrating the amount of salt per capita in the Lake Simcoe Region; · Two site plan drawings illustrating the built environment associated with Salt Reduction Strategy; · The private sector and public sector practices of the Salt Reduction Strategy; · The membership of the Salt Working Group; and · The “Minimum Maintenance Standards” developed in an attempt to reduce   Action details Not available
TMP-22187 1  Presentation - AC/RCPROPOSED GREENBELT EXPANSION DISCUSSION Mr. Geri Poisson discussed the Province of Ontario’s proposed areas to expand the Greenbelt which included the need for protecting water, the mapping of the study area and the proposed Greenbelt boundary. The Committee discussed the consultation period that ran from December 7, 2018 to March 7, 2018 and noted that the proposed expansion of the Greenbelt is in the early stages. The Committee agreed to discuss this matter at a future meeting once the boundaries are established.   Action details Not available
TMP-22186 1  Presentation - AC/RCNATIVE PLANT SALVAGE FROM AREAS SCHEDULED FOR DEVELOPMENT DISCUSSION The Committee discussed the possibility of salvaging native plants in areas scheduled for development. Mr. Geri Poisson explained the process of salvaging native plants and replanting them in a new location. Mr. Poisson noted that he was in contact with Developers in two new development areas and was advised that unfortunately they weren’t in a position to be able to participate in salvaging the plants at this time. Mr. Poisson advised that he would report back to the Committee once further information became available.   Action details Not available
