M. Sachkiw provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. Mr. Sachkiw discussed plans to invite an adult delegation from Murayama, Japan to visit the City of Barrie in 2020.
Mr. Sachkiw advised that a delegation from Murayama, Japan will be attending the International Rotary Convention in Toronto during the week of June 25, 2018 and would like to visit the City of Barrie during their stay in Toronto.
The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee account 01-06-0935-0000-3095 not to exceed $200.00 for meals and transportation costs associated with hosting a delegation from Murayama, Japan for an afternoon during the week of June 25, 2018. | Received | |

Zweibrücken, Germany
D. Morrison, Chair provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Morrison advised that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie through the Global Perspectives are currently visiting Zweibrücken, Germany until June 20, 2018 and are having a great time during their stay.
Murayama, Japan
D. Morrison, Chair provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Mr. Morrison advised that a youth delegation plus two adult leaders will be traveling to Murayama, Japan from August 16 to August 30, 2018. Mr. Morrison advised that new youth ambassadors’ applications forms will be updated to include parental information. | Received | |

B. Sergeant provided an update regarding the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire United Kingdom who will be visiting the City of Barrie from July 31, 2018 until August 9, 2018. Mr. Sergeant advised that the itinerary for the Borough of Harrogate combined adult and youth delegations is being finalized.
Mr. Sergeant advised that a reception for the combined adult and youth delegations from the Borough of Harrogate has been scheduled in the City Hall, Rotunda on July 31, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.

B. Sergeant provided an update regarding the Sir Robert Barrie Project. Mr. Sergeant commented that the Sir Robert Barrie Committee presented a reproduction of the Sir Robert Barrie painting to Barrie North Collegiate during their grand reopening in May, 2018. He noted that the Sir Robert Barrie Committee have presented eight high schools in the City of Barrie with reproductions of Sir Robert Barrie paintings.
