TMP-22549 1  Presentation - AC/RCJAPAN TWINNING UPDATE M. Sachkiw provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. Mr. Sachkiw commented that an invitation has been forwarded to Murayama, Japan to invite an adult delegation to visit the City of Barrie in 2018. D. Morrison, Chair suggested that in the event that Murayama, Japan is unable to send a delegation to visit the City of Barrie in 2018 that it would be beneficial to not host another delegation until 2020.   Action details Not available
TMP-22550 1  Presentation - AC/RCYOUTH AMBASSADORS UPDATE The Committee met and discussed the status of the Youth Ambassadors visits as follows: Zweibrücken, Germany J. Babcock provided an update regarding the Global Perspectives Program. Mr. Babcock discussed that a youth delegation from the City of Barrie will be traveling to Zweibrücken, Germany for a month beginning on May 24, 2018. Mr. Babcock invited the Committee to attend “Global Presents” at Innisdale Secondary School on May 22, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. He advised that the event will showcase the students’ works from the semester. Mr. Babcock advised that the youth delegation through the Global Perspectives Program traveled to Cuba in April, 2018 Murayama, Japan D. Morrison, Chair provided an update regarding Murayama, Japan. Mr. Morrison advised that twelve youths from the City of Barrie have been selected to travel to Murayama, Japan from August 16 to August 30, 2018. Mr. Morrison announced that the adult leaders for the youth delegation will be Paul Dunn and Lea Lawson.   Action details Not available

Warman advised that there are no adult exchanges scheduled for 2018 between Zweibrücken, Germany and the City of Barrie but potentially in 2019. He commented that plans are taking place to host a combined adult and youth band simultaneously from Harrogate United Kingdom from July 31, 2018 to August 9, 2018. Mr. Morrison advised that the itinerary for the delegation is action packed and the youth band will performing at numerous events during their visit. Mr. Morrison discussed the difficulties trying to locate host families for the youth band from Harrogate, North Yorkshire United Kingdom and he was looking for assistance from the Committee.   Action details Not available

Mr. Warman commented that the Sir Robert Barrie Project Committee will be presenting a reproduction of the Sir Robert Barrie painting to Barrie North Collegiate on May 16, 2018 R.
