Mr. Kapteijn outlined some concerns regarding the costs associated with widening the roads, and the removal of housing units. Mr. Kapteijn asked Council how this is in line with the Major Transit Station Area Policy, and if there has been a sign off from the Safety Consultant that wider and straighter roads are safer. Mr. Kapteijn reviewed the projected loss of Tax Revenue in relation to this project and asked if a scaled down version of the proposal could be considered as it would cost less to maintain but still achieve the same objective. Mr. Kapteijn outlined some concerns regarding the costs associated with widening the roads, and the removal of housing units. Mr. Kapteijn asked Council how this is in line with the Major Transit Station Area Policy, and if there has been a sign off from the Safety Consultant that wider and straighter roads are safer.
