Ms. Fitzgerald discussed slides concerning the following topics: * The Ontario Provincial Standard for sidewalks; * A picture illustrating the typical sidewalk design with tooled joints; * The Modified Ontario Provincial Standards for Sidewalks; and * A picture illustrating the city's current typical sidewalk design with saw-cut joints. Ms. Fitzgerald advised that by replacing the tooled joints with saw-cut joints on City sidewalks it would allow a continuous and consistent surface treatment for the public using strollers, walkers wheelchairs and similar other mobility enabling devices. She noted that the replacements would improve accessibility within the City. Members of the Committee provided feedback to Ms. Fitzgerald and received responses from City staff.
