JAPAN TWINNING UPDATE
M. Sachkiw, Vice Chair provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. Mr. Sachkiw advised that Dave Morrison will be recognized with the 2019 Autumn Imperial Decorations, The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays award from the Government of Japan at the City Council meeting to be held on January 13, 2020. Mr. Sachkiw advised that the Consular General of Japan in Toronto, Takako Ito will be in attendance to present the award. He noted that a reception to honour Mr. Morrison will follow the Award Presentation.
The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee cost centre #1026 660200 not to exceed $1500.00 for costs associated with hosting a reception for Mr. Morrison to be held on January 13, 2020.
D. Morrison left the Chair and the Sir Robert Barrie Room at 6:10 p.m. and M. Sachkiw, Vice-Chair assumed the Chair.
D. Morrison reassumed the Chair at 6:15 p.m.
