GERMAN TWINNING UPDATE AND GERMAN CANADIAN CLUB UPDATE
R. Warman provided an update regarding the German Twinning. Mr. Warman commented that Lord Mayor Dr. Marold Wosnitza accompanied by his spouse Heike Heb from Zweibrücken, Germany will be making an unofficial visit to the City of Barrie from July 10, 2019 to July 13, 2019.
The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee cost centre #1026 660200 not to exceed $1500.00 for costs associated with hosting the Lord Mayor, Dr. Marold Wosnitza and spouse Heike Heb between July 10 to July 13, 2019.
Mr. Warman advised that preparations are underway to host an adult choir from Zweibrücken, Germany from October 3, 2019 to October 11, 2019.
The Committee approved the expenditures of funds from the International Relations Committee cost centre #1026 660200 not to exceed $12,000.00 for costs associated with hosting an adult choir from Zweibrücken, Germany between October 3, 2019 to October 11, 2019.
R. Warman advised that Jean Maurice Pigeon has been selected as the new president of the German Canadian Club. J.M. Pigeon advised that the German Canadian Club are hosting a Pub Night on June 21, 2019 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 93 Berczy Street, Barrie, ON.
