Title: UPDATE REGARDING THE SMOKING BAN AT GEORGIAN COLLEGE B. Muscat, Executive Director, Student and Learning Services at Georgian College advised that Georgian College will be a smoke-free environment at all of its properties effective May 6, 2019. Mr. Muscat noted that the smoking definition includes the burning, inhaling, exhaling or vaping of any product or device. R. Calvano, Director of Campus Safety and Security at Georgian College provided a brief overview of the measures that Campus Security will take to enforce the new smoke-free procedures at Georgian College. Mr. Calvano noted that Campus Security will monitor, in particular, the Georgian College exits at Cook Street and Nelson Street. He reviewed some of the College's communication strategies to reach out to the Ward One residents that may be most impacted by the new smoke-free environment at the College. J. Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Legislative and Court Services Department noted that the City’s by-laws regulating smoking in public places/workplaces and smoking outdoors will be updated in accordance with amendments to the Smoke Free Ontario Act 2017.
