R. Osborne, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Enforcement Services Branch of the Legislative and Court Services Department provided an update on matters relating to:

* The amendments to the Property Standards and Yard Maintenance By-laws effective May 1, 2018;
* The review to restrict driving schools from training in neighbourhoods used for the Provincial Drive-Test; and
* The recruitment of summer students for Property Standards.

J. Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Enforcement Services Branch of the Legislative and Court Services Department provided an update on matters relating to:

* The amendments to sign by-laws to incorporate digital media and trailer advertising;

* The recruitment of summer students for general patrol duties and for the "Ask Me" Ambassador program.

Members of the Committee asked a number of questions related to the information provided and received responses from staff.

J. Sharp, Supervisor of Traffic Operations and Community Safety of the Roads, Parks and Fleet Department provided an overview of temporary traffic calming measures in Ward One. Mr. Sharp noted that seven speed cushions are scheduled for installation throughout Ward One in mid-May. He also advised that radar speed advisory boards will be installed on Cheltenham Road and Sydenham Wells. Mr. Sharp also advised that the resident survey concerning parking restrictions on Epsom Road has been completed.

B. Muscat, Executive Director of Student and Learning Services at Georgian College provided an update on the student enrollment statistics for the summer semester at the Barrie Campus of the College and the status of the Universal Transit Pass (U-Pass) for students at the Barrie Campus of the College.
