R. Osborne, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Enforcement Services Branch of the Legislative and Court Services Department provided an update on matters relating to:

* A comparison of the number of complaint files processed by the Enforcement Services Branch in 2016 and 2017;
* An update on residential property standards issues in Ward One concerning graffiti and garbage storage; and
* An overview of residential complaints in Ward One regarding drainage, low heat, mold and property conditions.

J. Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Enforcement Services Branch of the Legislative and Court Services Department provided an update on matters relating to:

* A comparison of the number of parking tickets issued by the Enforcement Services Branch in 2016 and 2017;
* An overview of the current staffing complement in the Enforcement Services Branch; and
* An update on the number of parking infractions in Ward One for overnight parking during the winter months.

A. Bourrie, Director of Planning and Building Services provided an update on matters relating to:

* The follow up of zoning complaints and zoning enforcement files by the Planning and Building Services Department; and
* An update on the current staffing complement in the Planning and Building Services Department.

Members of the Committee asked a number of questions related to the information provided and received responses from staff.

J. MacDonald, Traffic Technologist provided an update from the Roads, Parks and Fleet Department. Mr. MacDonald discussed traffic control measures and parking restrictions on Sydenham Wells. He noted that two pedestrian school crossing flashing beacons were installed on Blake Street in November 2017.





Sergeant J. Brooks of the Barrie Police Service noted that there were no recent community or safety issues to report in Ward One.
