J. Sharp, Supervisor of Traffic Operations and Community Safety of the Roads, Parks and Fleet Department stated that two school crossing flashing beacons will be installed on Blake Street this week.

R. Calvano, Director of Campus Safety and Security at Georgian College provided an update on matters relating to:

 

                     The relocation of faculty picket lines to College property were effective to minimize traffic disruption during this Fall’s strike;

                     An update on the College’s Design and Digital Arts Centre in Downtown Barrie; and

                     An overview of domestic and international student enrollment at the College.

 

J. Forgrave, Supervisor of Enforcement Services of the Enforcement Services Branch of the Legislative and Court Services Department noted that overnight parking restrictions during the winter months take effect on December 1, 2017.

 

D. Raymond commented that there has been an overall reduction of neighbourhood complaints in Ward One due to stakeholder cooperation.

 

C. Riepma of the Barrie East End Homeowners Association (BEEHA) stated that BEEHA General Meeting held on October 25, 2017 was well attended.

 

The Committee met and discussed the possibility of amending the Town and Gown Committee Terms of Reference to add a student property manager from the private sector to the Committee’s composition.
