JAPAN TWINNING UPDATE
M. Sachkiw provided an update regarding Japan Twinning. Mr. Sachkiw announced that Dave Morrison is the recipient of 2019 Autumn Imperial Decorations, The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays award from the Government of Japan in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Canada. H. Noguchi advised that she nominated Mr. Morrison for the award given his commitments to the relationship between Japan and Canada. Ms. Noguchi discussed the significance of The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays award. Deputy Mayor, B. Ward discussed recognizing Dave Morrison at a future City Council meeting.
