The Committee commented on the following topics of research on seniors housing: * The varying ages, mobility, and barriers to aging in place; * The unfortunate occurrence of families not being attentive stemming from location to isolation of family members and friends; * Not enough available health care providers, and having to reach out to pricey private caregivers while aging in place; * The housing market is more than stretched in the City; * Co-housing options, including security and safety; and * Affordable housing options for seniors. The Committee enquired about obtaining the income level for seniors and number of seniors living in the City, and agreed to defer this item to a future meeting for more information.
