PRESENTATION CONCERNING THE ADULT DELEGATION VISIT TO MURAYAMA, JAPAN
Councillor, B. Ward and Mark Sachkiw, Chair of the Barrie Murayama Friendship Exchange provided a presentation regarding the adult delegation visit to Murayama, Japan in October, 2017. Councillor Ward advised that the delegation travelled in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the friendship between the two cities. Councillor Ward and Mr. Sachkiw extended their appreciation to Hiromi Noguchi, member of the International Relations and Dave Morrison, Chair of the International Relations Committee for their efforts associated with the exchange program.
Councillor, B, Ward and Mr. Sachkiw discussed slides concerning the following topics:
• Picture and map illustrating the delegation and their travels;
• An outline of the exchange program;
• Pictures illustrating the following:
• City Hall welcoming ceremony and meeting with city officials in Murayama, Japan;
• The signing of the Friendship Agreement and gift exchange between the two cities;
• The publicity related to the adult delegations visit; and
• The delegations activites during their visit.
Councillor, B. Ward and M. Sachkiw presented Mayor Lehman with a pottery vase from Murayama, Japan. Mayor Lehman signed the Friendship City Agreement in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the mutual exchange between the City of Barrie and Murayama, Japan.
Mayor Lehman extended his appreciation to the adult delegation and the International Relations Committee for their commitments to these cultural exchanges.
