PRESENTATION TO THE RECIPIENTS OF 2017 BARRIE HERITAGE AWARDS
Mr. Chris Tribble, Chair of the Heritage Barrie Committee introduced the sixth annual Heritage Barrie Awards. He expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Heritage Barrie Committee to staff in Access Barrie for their assistance in updating the Heritage Walking Tour Booklets. He commented that the Heritage Barrie Committee selected winners from residential, commercial business, institutional and group categories. Mr. Tribble, Acting Mayor A. Khan and members of the Heritage Barrie Committee, Deb Exel, Carolyn Moran, Jennifer Morin, Greg Marek and Councillor, B. Ward presented awards to the following recipients:
• Residential - 230 Kempenfelt Drive
• Residential - Michael Jack of 129 Cumberland Street
• Commercial Business - Nick L’Ecyuer and family on behalf of Wellness Mortgage located at 35 Worsley Street
• Institutional - Lieutenant Colonel Perry Rittershofer Commanding Officer, Chief Warrant Officer Chris Pawliw of The Grey and Simcoe Foresters and Major Adam Beaver, Officer Commanding Real Property Operations detachment Borden on behalf of The Armoury located at 37 Parkside Drive

Acting Mayor A. Khan thanked the members of the Heritage Barrie Committee and the recipients of the awards. He commented that it is great to see people take great pride in heritage preservation.
