Title: COMBINED HEAT AND POWER SYSTEMS Alan McNair provided background information concerning combined heat and power systems. He advised that there are provisions for these types of systems contained within the Official Plan. Mr. McNair noted that the use of these systems would be a great opportunity for the new business developments in the annexed lands. Barry Thompson, Manager of Energy Management advised that in 2018, the City will be issuing a Request for Expressed Interest (REOI) to establish an interest for combined heat and power systems in future development projects within the City. Councillor McCann advised that he would set-up a meeting with City staff to discuss the possibility of encouraging outside companies to establish combined heat and power systems in the City and will provide an update at the next Committee Meeting.
