B. Courtice, President of the Barrie Historical Archive (BHA) provided a presentation entitled, “Pictures Gone Poetic” regarding the BHA’s Book of Poetry Project.  Mr. Courtice explained that the Book of Poetry features the literary work of the City’s Poet Laureate, Victoria Butler and will include historical images of the City of Barrie.  Mr. Courtice noted that the publication of this Book of Poetry will be in partnership with the BHA.

Mr. Courtice discussed slides concerning the following topics:

·	An overview of the literary journal “The Northern Appeal” founded by Victoria Butler; 
·	Background information regarding the not-for-profit BHA organization; and
·	An overview of the BHA website.

Ms. Butler read her poem to the Committee based on the Barrie Tornado disaster that took place on May 31, 1985.  

Members of the Committee asked a number of questions related to the information provided and received responses from the presenter.
