Councillor, K. Alywin explained the importance of the Federal Gas Tax Fund (GTF) to municipalities and that it is a permanent source of funding to support local infrastructure priorities.  

Councillor Alywin advised of the potential to use a portion of the GTF towards active transportation infrastructure within the City to meet the targets set for active transportation that are currently not being met.
