Julie commented that the experience she gained provided her with a better understanding and knowledge of municipal government, the decision making process and the hard work that is undertaken in shaping the City. In closing, Julie advised that her experience as Student Mayor has inspired her and peaked her interest in politics.

She recognized the Committee members as truly caring and an invested group of people that volunteer their time on various initiatives to improve the lives of Barrie’s seniors. Councillor Ainsworth thanked Mayor Lehman, City staff and members of the Seniors Advisory Committee for their efforts and continued support to make Barrie an age-friendly community.
