Maclennan, Seniors Program Coordinator of the Gilbert Centre provided a presentation concerning the Older Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer+ (LGBTQ+) Program. Mr. Maclennan noted that the Gilbert Centre provides social and support services to the LGBTQ+ communities of Simcoe Muskoka. Mr. Maclennan discussed slides concerning the following topics: · A review of the Gilbert Centre’s corporate values; · The need to provide a Seniors Program for the LGBTQ+ community to reduce social isolation and to assist with overcoming barriers; · A County of Simcoe map illustrating the percentage of senior population over the age of 55 as of 2016; · An overview of the Older LGBTQ+ Program at the Gilbert Centre; and · A listing of LGBTQ definitions.
