Deputy Mayor, B. Ward provided details concerning the International Delegation with Murayama, Japan.  He noted that the two Cities alternate each year with either a group coming to Barrie or one going to Murayama, Japan.  Deputy Mayor Ward advised that the Japanese delegation left Barrie in August, and that they left a gift for the City.  He explained the significance of the gift, being a gourd grown by a Japanese farmer and that he carved the gourd and turned it into a light. 

Mark Sachkiw, member of the International Relations Committee advised that the gift is a significant honour to be given from the Japanese people.  Mr. Sachkiw and Deputy Mayor Ward presented the gift to Mayor Lehman on behalf of the Japanese Delegation.</description><pubDate>Wed, 22 Feb 2023 19:47:28 GMT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
